Our New Jabiru - ZU-LBD

Unread post by TonyL » Wed Dec 19, 2018 1:37 pm

Hi All,

Thought that I would post about our new Jabiru. She is a new J430 SA800 (this is presumably to indicate the new MAUW of 800kg) and she will be based at Wings Park in East London. We took delivery of her from the Jab factory in George on 14 December 2018. In true Wings Park and Jabiru community fashion we took 4 Jabs along to go and fetch her. Thanks to those that went along for the ride, especially at this time of the year when everyone is so busy finishing up and getting ready to go on leave!!! Thanks also to those at the factory that went out of their way to build a fantastic beautiful plane for us and then to get it ready and delivered in time for the December holidays =D>

We look forward to getting to meet more of the Jabiru community in the near future!! Here's to many happy and safe hours flying ahead!!!

Some pictures (sorry about being so many, but hey . . . . we like her :D ):

Wow, that's great - what was done to allow the new 800 kg MAUW? And can one upgrade a 2017 Jab 430?

As far as I know the only change is an increase in the size of the wing bolts. There may be some additional fibreglass in the wings, but I am not sure.

Yes a 2017 plane can be upgraded. I know of one that has been done.

Congrat's Tony, its a beauty inside and out.
I see you have already been well briefed or have lots of experiance with Jabi's. Typical of our species, its only the 1st picture with wheel spats on
