RV 10 Kit

Unread post by newbie » Mon Mar 31, 2014 10:28 am

Hi

I have been looking at the various aircraft available on the market for my specific missions - travel for business, mostly 2 up, but sometimes 4 people. Also use for family vacations and I am seriously thinking of looking at an RV 10. Now the question: Who import RV 10 kits, what does a typical kit cost and any feedback regarding these nice aeries?

I know to build one is not the "fastest/easiest" way to do it, but I hire and fly now, so I will just keep on doing this - I did tool-making before I started in the sales world, so I think it would be a nice project to keep me out of trouble  .

Thank you

You import the kit, there are no agents anywhere in the world. Van's produce the kits, markets and ships and will deliver to your door. However you will have to register as an importer and set up an account with a clearing agent and there are many other hoops you will have to jump through for government.

I would say that you would need 3000 to 3500 hours of time stolen from the family which would most likely mean about 5 years of part time work.

Still keen? If so go to www.vansaircraft.com download all the order forms and do the sums, then submit them to Van's... :D

The RV-10 is an AWESOME machine. :D

RV10 Quick Build can be done in about 1800 Hours if you outsource the painting. QB definitely worth it.
