OPEN SEAT INVITE: 1 MAY 2009

Unread post by RudiGreyling » Thu Apr 30, 2009 11:40 am

RVators,

Sharing the Passion and Romance of Flying: OPEN RV Zulu 7 Seat Invite to Groblersdal!

I have an open RV Zulu 7 seat for Groblersdal Fly-in Tomorrow 1 May.
If you are interested in a RV, homebuilding or just an aviation nut, my PAX seat is yours.
Plan is to take-off Spring airfield at 7:30AM so you need to be at my hangar at 7:00AM
We will stay the morning and come back mid day somewhere.

3 Simple Rules:
1) First come, first served, preference given to persons that have not flown a RV before.
2) Need to be under 110 KG's, so we can sit comfy.
3) Need to be over 21 years, to understand the flying risks & to take your own accountability.

You need to SMS me ASAP: 0 8 3 - 2 4 5 - 9 9 5 5

Hentie Joint me to Groblersdal, looks like he enjoyed it...

Thank you once again for an awesome experience! What a truly remarkable Aircraft & Gentleman. This RV is a head-spinner of note. I’ve never seen so many people drooling! Rudi is also starting to become something of a household name. A lot of people might not know him, but they surely know of him and ZU-LUZ.

With a tail-dragger, your feet must be wide awake and the way in which Rudi handles it, we might just as well call him Fred (like in Astaire). Three point landing, perfect!

Ever since my first stall training in the Hartebeespoort GF where I ended up in an inverted spin, I was scared for life of any thing aerobatic. Thank you Rudi for letting me overcome my fear of aerobatics and I will ALWAYS remember you for that! You can send me your invoice and call it “Mind Altering Therapy”.

May you have long and safe flying hours in the “7” and may the “10” be on its way sooooon.

Maybe we should do a Whale Tour down to Plett in August/September/October and have a couple of guys (and gals) come with. It is awesome to see these creatures in the bay, something you an only do from the air, as you do not appreciate their size when in a boat. There are also some BEEG sharks around, to name one, the Robberg Express (hence the reason why I do NOT swim in the sea).

Once again, THANK YOU RUDI

Hentie

Ps. I need your full names and ID No, maybe you will end up in my will :)

TRIP: Namibia 2009 INTRO

Unread post by RudiGreyling » Mon May 11, 2009 3:54 pm

RVators,

Well I have another RV trip planned, and have been keeping it under wraps. Slowly I am expanding my horizons, getting to learn my little home built, keeping the passion and romance of flying alive. That is why I built this little machine, now I have to enjoy her...

This would be my first out of country trip. I am following an experienced hand into Namibia to get the “know how” first hand. 2 RV aircraft: Alan’s RV6 and my RV7 will be each others company from 17 to 23 May. The plan is to visit and explore the Caprivi, Etosha and Swakopmund over 7 days.

Here is the Google Earth Route File, for your Google Earth viewing pleasure
http://www.rudigreyling.com/pictures/rv ... _route.kmz

Here is a picture of our anticipated route.
Image

Day 1 (17 May): Home -> FAPN (Pilansberg) -> FYKM (Katima Mulilo): Stay 2 nights and refuel

Day 3 (19 May): FYKM (Katima Mulilo) -> FYTM (Tsumeb) Refuel -> FYMO (Mokuti): Stay 2 nights

Day 5 (21 May): FYMO (Mokuti) -> Scenic route -> FYSM (Swakop): Stay 2 nights and refuel

Day 7 (23 May): FYSM (Swakop) -> FYWE (Aeros) Refuel -> GBV -> FAPN (Pilansburg) -> Home

For those that are interested can follow our tracks, via Cell phone GPS tracker, it is FREE. Isn’t technology great? We know it works within South African borders, some of my older tracks are still online, but we will see how well, if all, it works in darkest Africa. It will store info on the phone until we hit a cell phone tower then download the info. If it does not work that great, then I will post information when I am back again, just like our last coast to coast tour.

http://www.vfrplanner.org/app/nav/tracker/index.htm

Then click on VFR TRACKER MAP.

You need to register to see the tracks…look out for the RV7 tracks from the 17th of May onwards.

I love my RV,
Groete

Hi Graham,

I am using the software from the same site... http://www.vfrplanner.org/
There is small write up how to dowload it FREE to your phone.
Sias (South African Owner) is great aviation nut, and personal friend, is doing plenty for aviation in the backround exposing it to the web.

I know it works great within SA borders, we will see how good it works x-borders.
