RV-12 by Bennie

Unread post by bennie » Sat Apr 10, 2010 9:30 pm

Saw Allen's RV6 project initially =P~ , Rudi showed me how a RV flies 8) ..... and Jan showed me to build a RV toolbox :P ...... so I had this  that I should be able to manage building and flying my RV too!!

Emp and some tools in Krugersdorp, thanks to Jeff. Should be fetching this week :D

Workspace and the local tools not ready yet, unfortunaty delaying the build start :( but "slowly, slowly, catches the monkey" applies for more than monkeys, I believe!!

Looking forward! 8-[

The visit to Hanger E14 Krugersdorp AF to collect the first kit and tools today.

The roof rack was intended and used for hang gliders initially - never thought it would carry an RV (kit) too!

Tools checked, but kit crate left as it is - for the time being...... 8-[

Good Evening

The only remarkable progress here was completing the work table. The frame out of excess wood left over after construction at home, to the Rudi table measurements, and the table tops of re-used shutter board - made fit and made look nice with wood primer!! Christiaan waiting patiently for this project to happen....
Work table & Christiaan DSC07268.JPG
Workshop foundation coming along between rainy days. Will be providing 8.5m x 2.8m work area, slightly less than what VAN's suggests, but I recon it will (have to)do. All the excess building material goes in......cleaning the yard!

I like your table - just add some of those "step-on" brakes and I will like it even more.

Yip, the back-end about face way. For me the hydraulic law of "No pressure no flow" applies, albeit self induced. Otherwise I would never have committed!!

No actual RV building to report, but for myself the workshop building is part and parcel of the project. Hope this is the most physical requirement of the project - sweating at 7am in the cold!

Nice to have a level area.
