Thank you Peter. :smt023

They saw Jan's video with me and shared my exitement at the time of being able fly your plane out after a build. Now they just want to know when we are done. Struggle to get the concept of the duration of the build across to there non-time-buggerated minds.

We are experiencing along!!

Hallo RV'rs

Travelling from north to south through the country and grafting on the weekends on roads and airports (with night shifts for the coming week) eats up potential build time. Had a nice fly past at ORT today - Mustang Sally! - variation from the normal big bird shuffle on the port!

Managed to spend some time rivetting the stabilater ribs and may now refer to the Stabilater Skeleton Assembly complete. Not a lot of visual evidence but included a photo anyhow.

Hope Feb the build will go with more progress.

Dit lyk baie goed sover. Strekte met die bou.

Hallo RV'rs

Did make some tiny progress with VS assembling the vericle stabiliser hinges. Talking the bolts was another total knew experience for me. Easy as long as you read the manaul or instructions (and do the correct convertions). Who invented inches by the way? Would like to talk that guy!!

Deburring the VS skins is in progress....

Till next time.

Sorry, Bennie I can't resist. The problem is you should torque the bolts and not talk to them. :D

Your work looks great - very neat and obviously some great attention to detail. Keep it up ( and the updates :!: )

Hallo Rv'rs

Last progress report more than a month ago. Managed some interrupted skinning of the vertical stabiliser mainly riveting the skins. Spend yesterday and today completing the stabilater. Some pics of the final tasks on the stabilater before storing till assembly time: Trailing edge skinning (aft Skin), Stabilater riveting completed and horns and balance arm temporary fitted.

Now able to move on to the cone....

Till next time

Hi

Finished the tail cone bulk heads. Pretty straight forward. Does not look like much but deburring, priming and riveting (squeeze rivets) kept me busy.

Next will be the cone skins with many holes to deburr and prime lines..... that will require time.

Till next time.

Workshop foundation coming along between rainy days. Will be providing 8.5m x 2.8m work area, slightly less than what VAN's suggests, but I recon it will (have to)do. All the excess building material goes in......cleaning the yard!

How's the work area size 'working' for you?

Work Space:

At this stage it is still working out. The plan is to partly finish the tail cone and hang it. i.e. not assemble the tail parts till the fuse is ready. But before the fuse I will do the wings. Don't think the fuse will be possible with the wings complete and made standing along side - so when the tail parts comes down (maybe before the fuse is completed??) the wings will have to go up or somewhere else......

Thanks

Good Thinking, the Tailcone takes a lot of space when done, and it is a flimsy structure until joined with the fuse, to it is difficult to store effecticely.
You can build the wings complete and then store them somewhere else too, then tacle the tailcone and fuse as a project together.
