The colour Blue Trilam covering has failed on two cheetahs.
Does anyone else have fabric failings.
Cheetah A has 700 hours
Cheetah B has 350 hours
Comments please.

Looks like they are running from any responsibilty on the first cheetah failure.mine has yet to be commented on.
Work out the numbers we have 340 hours TT. If we left this aircraft out in the sun,for all it,s life.
The fabric would have to replaced in? This is not what we had expected from a so called leader in the manufacture of yacht sails.

Rainbow aircraft and its suppliers of Trilam claim ,No manufacturing defect.
So be careful when choosing your aircraft ,as you will
be expected to recover the Trilam fabric between 300-700 hours @ approx R50 000.
Two aircraft already effected, and Rainbow not interested.

It is very clear! I have requested samples of the material from the same batch,No sample received.
Requested the SUppliers Report that says no fault from their side. NO REPORT.
YOU HAVE TWO CLIENTS WITH LOW HOUR AIRCRAFT .THAT NEED NEW FABRIC,YOU ARE HAPPY TO RELEASE MY AIRCRAFT IN ITS CURRENT CONDITION ,WITH LESS THAN EXPECTED LIFE ON THE FABRIC,AND YOU ASK ME PLEASE EXPLAIN YOUR LACK OF INEREST.
WE ARE NOT DONE YET.

Any update on this issue?? I'm ready to buy but now worried about the fabric issue that has been popping up.. i also can't seem to find ANY build pics or threads on the cheetah or bush cat... anyone have these?

I'm building a Vans RV10 now, but need something to fly while we build - not wanting to rent. the Bushcat/Cheetah looks great, saw it at oshkosh 2011 although I don't have much knowledge about the quality of the plane or the fabric issues posted here.
