Scuttlebutt has it that there are interesting opportunities opening up in China for self-employed individuals, eg, attorneys, chartered accountants, management consultants, etc.
Not for the internal Chinese market but catering to the ex-pat and international trade market between China and Africa.
Just have to learn Mandarin at one of the pressure-cooker lanaguage schools ...
I’d rather live in DRC than China
:D he he - I'd rather live in SA than the DRC, never mind China, but Africa isn't for folk who want a quiet life, so who knows what drives emigration decisions

From an ex-colleague who gave us same insight after working there for 3 months on a sort of exchange program between Standard Bank and another big bank of China (ICBC) , it is great working and living there. Except for the air pollution.
Lots of South Africans living there.

Ja, the air in the big cities — and there are plenty of them — is poisonous. I spent 10 days at a coal mine in the Gobi desert, photographing steam engines, and that was bad enough, but the air in Beijing was simply unbreathable.

Then add the Big Brother effect. No, not for me ...

For those who want to make use of Entrepreneur/investment visas, here a site which might be a good starting point.
They don't tell you a lot, but there are links to people in the respective countries who could help.
