Never mind the loadshedding our power outages due to faults have become more often and for long periods. On average a outage is 4 hours but we have had 12 and 25 hours outages since 1 January. We have had 14 outages since Jan.

Losing 4 hours yesterday gave me time to wonder if SA isn't on the brink of a major financial crisis. National debt is over 50% of GDP; add Eskom (debt increasing at R500m/month and inability to fund current debt levels of R420bn) and it could go over 60%. This could well be IMF type bailout territory for an emerging economy. Agriculture had a record year in 2018 and sly Cyril wants to EWC. My outcome from these gloomy thoughts was to buy gold and US$.

So my solar system once again to the rescue, what is worse and what makes me rather cross is that currently I could supply about 4Kw/h of clean green energy into the grid, enough for the base load of 4 additional homes. That is the current excess production not going anywhere and is wasted. In the meantime our grid power is out due to load shedding.

What's wrong with my power ? Does it smell funny ? Does it not smell of burned coal or not enough neutrons liberated in the process ?

Then to top it all the City of Cape Town is actively and aggressively trying to discourage solar PV use (despite what they claim on their website).

It ain't not making any sense to this boy...
Who said the sky is the limit ? I think not.

Totally fake. The real story is that given the hardships, electricity usage on those days will be at R0.10 per kw/h.

You have to interpret "excellent work to date" from the parastatal point of view.

"excellent work to date" means:
* Lying convincingly about the state of affairs
* Doing so while looking good
* Finding new "blameshifting" opportunities
* Avoid paying bills on time
* Justifying salary increases
* Attending functions
* Drawing up of draft "justification for tariff increases" documents(or having a contractor do it for you)
* Being at the office on time
* Remaining awake the entire day
* Drawing up a database of distances to nearest KFC/McDonalds/Nandos etc. to prevent excessive travel during office hours
* Reading positive reviews about your "excellent work done to date"
