I like mini disclaimers! Going to end all my posts from now with AIUI..

Back to the non creative Europeans. I got my biggest shock many moons ago when visiting friends in Spain. We all went to the beach one day. It was me, some Swiss, Spanish and one British oke. All big strong lads and girls. So on our way to the beach we stopped at the supermarket to buy a case of cold beers. The first thing at the beach all grab a cold beer. That was where the trouble started - no opener! :? They were all very dissapointed and put the beers back. Guess who was the man of the moment when this boytjie from Africa began to open the beers the African way!(one beer with another) 8)
They thought it was very cool! :?

Mispelled?
ADITYAS are sons of Prajapati Kasyapa and Aditi. As they are sons of Aditi, they are called Adityas. The twelve Adityas are deities of the twelve Lunar months. They are twelve different forms of Sun god. They travel in a chariot with only one wheel and a charioteer named Anura, son of Prajapati Kasyapa and Vinata, rides it.

OTOH religious posts are frowned on 8-[

But why don't the Europeans breed? What's the problem...or is it maybe because they don't belief in the family structure/values anymore!?..
Its a simple matter of economics and stability I am afraid. People mortgaged to the hilt in Europe to simply by a little shitbox that is not fit for a family. only 30% of germans own their own house. Fear for the future, economic chaos, the ongoing financial armageddon, constant relentless anti European propaganda, constant relentless increase in taxation, constant relentless increase in petty regulation of citizenry.

Frankly many people see giving birth as a selfish reckless act in this modern world, many believe they are being responsible citizens by not having children. They may be right.

Also, I think Europe is already overpopulated, particularly the UK, and that a gradual reduction of the population would be a positive from a quality of life perspective.

We have been betrayed by successive governments, and the economies of the bulk of Europe are still one breath away from financial collapse. But everyone prefers to ignore this and soldier on, perhaps the alternative is too stark to face.

The Yellow vest protests are an interesting phenomenon, I think the decline of the systems of mass indoctrination, or simply the average persons belief in them is the start of real change. It is interesting to see the UK implimenting some frankly bizarre laws curtailing freedom of speech and indeed what you are allowed to watch. They are getting clumsy now, and I fear it may lead to some serious societal fracturing.

Ag anyway, its all a cycle, which would be a healthy normal one, if the colossal incompetents stopped their greedy meddling.
The older I get, the more I am convinced that "A Confederacy of Dunces" is non fiction.

AIUI at its most basic level in third world countries with higher infant mortality rates there is an automatic instinctive need to have more children to replace those that will almost inevitably be lost to illness etc. In addition amongst rural folk the children grew up and then looked after the older folk when the latter were no longer able to work the land etc. There is also a lack of access to contraceptives.
This what much of Hans Rosling's work is about.

He predicts that the world population will NEVER exceed 11 billion.

Watch his video clips (very entertaining) if you don't want to read his books.

His latest book is "Factfulness" (available in most book stores).

While you're there get all three copies of Yuval Harari's books (Sapiens, Homo Deus and 21 Lessons for the 21st Century)

I'm highjacking the thread now, but on the book topic, Prisoners of Geography by Tim Marshall is also a very good read.

Some how I believe Switzerland has one that's 700+ years old. Round about there they decided to kick the king out.....something the Brits still has not done .

Are you sure? Google says since 1848, that's only 170 years. That put them in the 6th place. I don't think that infographic is complete.... Salute!

Now consider the effects Illegal fishing has on this as it is a huge, global problem that threatens to wipe out food sources for millions and to cost economies billions.

That's interesting! OTOH I would guess (without actually knowing) that those illegal fisherman are also feeding their families and other folk with their catches and thus adding to their local economies.

I suppose the problem is rather if they wipe out fish stocks so that the activity is not a sustainable one. Would that then be the real problem?
