Flew to Reitz today. A nice length little excursion with a very picturesque town as the goal.
Oom Niels from Poelanie Guest House was the epitome of hospitality as he collected us from the airfield and whisked us to his excellent establishment only a km or two away.
Chocolat coffee shop is run by Oom Niel’s wife, (sorry didn’t catch her name...)
The front is smart yet quaint, then you travel through quite a collection af arts, crafts and more importantly a bewildering array of biscuits and sweet treats.
There is a quiet and secluded back portion that has an almost farm feel to it, as you watch a family of donkeys meander along, a lonely springbok, and a restless patrolling ostrich.
Excellent value breakfast served by lovely and friendly young ladies.
Would highly recommend a trip to Reitz, or even an overnight if you can find hangar space for your aerie!
