Hangar Talk. Cape Town

Unread post by RuanS » Thu Jan 03, 2019 8:17 am

Late last year me and the better half made the decision to move from the big smoke to Cape Town. The decision came up when I got a job offer from the sister company to the company I was working for at the time. We decided to make the move as she could get a transfer as well and a bit of a better lifestyle. Needless to say the move came with some sacrifices that included my weekend hire and fly and the social aspect of chatting about flying, admiring aircraft and watching planes get built. My PPL has already lapsed and I am first trying to get my savings up before I get current again. (The "Groot trek" took everything )
I have not really been around airfields around the Cape Town area but, if anyone wants some company at the field while building planes or on a short local flight, send me a PM. I am available most weekends.

Cheers,
R

Not sure how gemutlich it is (maybe just commercial) but there's also the Cape Town Flying Club at CT International.

Also I believe that the Stellenbosch Flying Club people are very friendly.

My +1 on Jean's comment. :smt023
There are three simple rules for making a perfect landing. Unfortunately, no one knows what they are.
I was flying in uniform when you were still in liquid form

Ruan, the next Speed Rally event will be at Morningstar on 2 February, if you're interested to see what that is about. We should be there on the Friday already for the test flying. It will be my first visit to Morningstar, but it certainly seems there is a lot going on there.

If you don't gear up your brain before takeoff, you'll probably gear up your airplane on landing.
