Definitely looks like a Muslim structure of sorts: arches above the columns, octagonal plan and dome on raised barrel.

It is also a typical Portuguese colonial structure with the arches and columns. That roof looks newer than the structure itself. I would like to know what else in the immediate vicinity was built before 1975. Angola is hardline Roman-Catholic. Any other religions is from the devil. It could be a bell tower then, with the bell missing.

Hi Hennie

The above posts mention a Kramat which some looks like a structure over a grave. (Fransw's post)
This structure has, what could be a raised tomb(don't know the correct term) in the middle on ground level. There is not much around as posted in my original. You can copy/paste the co-ordinates and have a look on googoomaps

Not necessarily so: personally, I think it may be the beginnings of a Bahai temple...(look it up) -- there is one in Kampala.

I had a look at the area, and there is a very nice organised place with orchards and neatly grouped buildings to the north, and an informal settlement to the south. Could be a mission station. There is no clearly recognizable church building though, and I still think the structure might a bell tower. Difficult one it is.
