SA avoids "great" recession

Unread post by Jack Welles » Wed Sep 04, 2019 10:30 am

SA's economy rebounds in 2nd quarter, growth 3.1%, this avoiding a recession.

Not out of the woods yet, but better than some expected.

Rebound... business came to a standstill during loadshedding etc... ground to a stop and now with electricity back on jump started again IMHO.

Next quarter to be slightly up again and then I am guessing back to same old flat or contraction again...

Also ZAR weaker during this time...

This figure of quarterly growth tells us little to nothing... and should not take away from the dire situation the SA economy is in...

Saffers go on holidays/strike between Nov and Easter....then we slowly "ramp" up to Nov. Nothing to be excited about....normal curve.
