Re: Robert Mugabe has died
I'm guessing he will be venerated in the same way as Winnie was.

Re: Robert Mugabe has died
Without a doubt. Plenty of it on Twitter already. From what I've seen and heard both online and offline today most of the opinions seem to lean that way.
Seems like most either regard him as a hero and saviour or as a serial abuser of human rights. Most of the opinions are nothing in between!

Re: Robert Mugabe has died
It was announced today that there will only be two pallbearers at Mugabe's funeral.
That's because there's only two handles on a garbage can.

It's one of those days I wish God and the Pearly Gates do exist. In addition I would like to view what happens when he arrives there.
Who said the sky is the limit ? I think not.

Re: Robert Mugabe has died
Probably the reason. That's why term limits for politicians are a good idea. Wonder if this has ever been debated in the corporate world? Rather than just more (regulatory or audit) oversight that might help to prevent the Steinhoff type debacle?RiNCEw1ND wrote: ↑Fri Sep 06, 2019 9:51 amPower corrupts?Jack Welles wrote: ↑Fri Sep 06, 2019 8:23 amProbably because like a lot of (effectively) dictators he started out good and ended bad, eg, Castro, Gaddafi, Chavez etc etc![]()

In a luxury hospital in Singapore? the irony is simply too much.
He was never a good person, he started out bad and waited for his opportunity to act out his hatred for mankind.

Re: Robert Mugabe has died
I still dont know why some people think he did any good for Africa... I have less than no pity for Zimbabweans as a whole... all rallied around him when they took the farms and celebrated and when the chickens came home to roost the "unhappiness" started with Mugabe...
This saying comes to mind...
Niemöller:
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out— because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
Africa is its own worst enemy and with many Africans quiet about the attacks on whites, perhaps something to remember...
