We as a family have boycotted Coke completely. It's gone from about NZD $3.50 to over $4.50 for a 2.25 LT in supermarkets. A 600mm is $5 at cafes and filling station convenience stores , yes we are earning $$ but I cannot help still doing the conversion to SAR's , Pepsi is $2 for a 2l and tastes better IMOH :)

I think you will find this is a direct result of the killing of Escobar, and the tightening of US border controls.

And they caught another submarine with $165m worth onboard. Could be R50/l soon. It's more volatile than Saudi oil.

A friend in the RSA tells me there is an option. Twizza make all the sodas to compete against the monopoly and sell 2L for the price of the monopoly's 500ml. :D I would support them, considering the price is good and the boss flies aeroplanes. Dinkum. :D

Yup. The good thing about "shrinkflation" a.k.a. "let's maximise profits by giving less and charging more" is it opens up the market for a whole bunch of not-that-greedy newcomers whose products aren't half-bad at all. (In fact, in a growing number of cases, to me, actually nicer than the stuff we've been used to - at less than half the price).

All we need now then is our own pick n pay outlets that would allow us to sell it.

You can always go to the M&B Café at the new Leroy Merlin DIY store, Strubens Valley, and pay R27.50 for a 300ml can of coke.

We started buying Spar Cola and Twizza Cola a while ago, and they are actually better tasting than Coke, which lost a lot of taste since they started their SJW campaign against sugar. The Spar one goes for R10.99 a 2l and I bought Twizza at Makro on Saturday for R8,90 a 2l. Coke has a promotion every weekend at our local Spar trying to flog the the stuff. I am not paying R22.00 and up for a 2l Coke.

60L Carbonator - SodaStream’s Carbonators gives 45 liters of carbonated drinks per carbonator.
I am using this in stead of Soda Water which sells at the same price a sugary fizzy cold drinks which works out to just over R3.00/liter :D
