Unread post by Theuns v V » Sat Oct 19, 2019 6:00 pm

After the last water restriction we had inhave lost about 50% of my.front lawn. I tried the harvesting of.grass in one area to plant in the dead spots but the effort is.just not worth the results. What does these sods of.instant lawn sell.for these days? I assume they are 1by 0.5m ? Do they take relatively well on soil that I Spit over?

lawn is cheap, depending on quantity your nursery can help get. Or from guys on the side of the road.
You need to level and compact the soil else it will settle unevenly.
loosen the roots on the roll-on lawn, and apply pressure with a roller afterwards.
It needs tons of water, regularly after laying to make sure it takes root else it will die.

Just done a section now and relaid a bunch after irrigation work.
Grown out brilliantly.

i'd lift the old lawn, get the whole surface prepared and then relay it nice and evenly.
I rented a roller that didn't weigh much but you had to fill the drum with water - worked brilliantly.
Rake the surface nice and evenly then roll it.
I had to raise the height with topsoil, was amazed how many bags it required on a relatively small area.
