I thought he was IF rated? Why would you descend to maintain vmc?
Flying visually over the sea at night in dodgy weather was never going to end well.

Couldn't see mention of any qualification beyond a PPL.

On the flight out he mentioned he was "rusty with the ILS"

This, with a 7000'/min ROD says it all.

It seems those radar returns are about 5 seconds apart.

Can you imagine the horror in that cockpit during the last 20 seconds or so? A descent of 7000'/min in a screaming right hand spiral. Then he must have levelled the wings, probably when he broke out of cloud at low level, and pulled up almost vertically into the cloud again. Presumably this was followed by a stall - either low or high speed.

The best result is that other folks learn from this tragedy.

The only thing we learn from history is that we learn nothing from history.
If nothing else works, a total pig-headed unwillingness to look facts in the face will see us through.

Essentially they have been saying that a transfer is a process and the process had not completed therefore he wasn't their player yet and as such they don't need to pay.

Is the transfer really a process? I am sure the negotiations are, but wouldn't the agreement state a specific time and date on which the transfer is deemed to happen?

Not so simple -
an error made by Cardiff when registering Sala with the Premier League was not resolved before the player's death.

It is understood Cardiff have also written to Nantes seeking evidence the French club had fully deregistered the Argentine prior to the January 21 crash.
IOW they're holding back the first payment and disputing that the transfer had been properly "finalized" because the new registration was not properly in place and because they suspect (hope?) that the old registration had not yet been cancelled (through tardy administrative work?).

They also appear to be angling for "who organized the maybe dodgy flight?" If it was Nantes then they should be held responsible for Sala's death from a civil perspective.

Much to "play" for (pun intended) :-k

...yikes, not nice to be famous, they keep on arguing and keeping your name in "play" till everything is resolved - amicably or not!
