Are these football stars insurable assets of the club?
If ever in doubt about flying - drink a beer.
That will give you at least 8 hours to think about it some more.

How is it that State SAR organizations could not find the aircraft but privately funded search parties could and in less than a day.?

The sea state at the time was not favourable for an extended search. There is also a defined timeline in SAR procedures as to when to call it off if no positive info & results become available.

Goodness whilst obviously friends and families to both men are grieving Sala's fathers stricken face just tells how awful this is, as he spoke with his son moments before, one just wonders what was happening on that aircraft, besides being very likely pummeled by bad weather very likely that the pilot was totally disorientated and the aircraft had entered unusual attitudes and was unrecoverable until it hit the sea, perhaps had started to break up before it hit the sea, it must have been a terrifying ride into the sea.

I think I have flown once on "cheapest quote" charters and like to think I am very unlikely to do so again. It may not even have to crash to kill me.

(CNN)A body has been seen in the wreckage of the plane which was carrying missing footballer Emiliano Sala, the UK's Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) has said.
Underwater searches were carried out using specialist vessels on February 3 over the priority search area and, according to AAIB, uncovered an "object of interest" on the seabed.
A remotely operated vehicle surveyed the area and, based on analysis of the video footage, investigators have concluded that the object was wreckage from the missing Piper Malibu aircraft.
The statement said: "Tragically, in video footage from the ROV [Remotely Operated Vehicle], one occupant is visible amidst the wreckage.
"The AAIB is now considering the next steps, in consultation with the families of the pilot and passenger, and the police."

Cage,
Different search parameters. The initial search was surface based. Looking for traces on the surface.
The private search, by then obviously it was at the bottom of the channel. They used different technology.
Thats my thinking

You are most likely correct.
It does raise some interesting questions wrt access to technology and how necessary it is considered to recover GA aircraft.
