Didn't mean to sound negative. It is just that most RVs I have seen use straight pipes and collectors, which flow well and don't get that hot. Silencer boxes slow the gas flow and pick up a lot more heat than what you would expect if you have only used straight exhausts.

Hey Justin, I understand, but I still have lots of work to do firewall forward including give consideration to heat shielding and fire sleeving. Also consider a RV cowl is closed and tight with very little to no airflow around the exhaust, the Eindecker has a big open gaping front cowl with lots of direct airflow and prop blast on the exhaust. So in this area, the 2 aircraft are not comparable. Hope it makes sense?
