What is the problem with the engineers of today that they can't fix a simple bug like that????

Can they not just change the Air Fuel Ratio? Seems a simple fix.
How come every time my ship comes in I'm at the airport?

Easy for the engineers on the ground but having made FEs redundent it is a bit cold & breezy for the FO to do it on the wing

I vaguely remember this story. Picture taken slightly out of context which makes this screen shot quite funny.
It was to do with weight of the aircraft at nearly empty tanks approaching some operating point where it was difficult to maintain altitude at certain heights and speeds. Not a biggy - perhaps the 777 drivers on this forum can give more details.
Who said the sky is the limit ? I think not.

agree ....should be simple fix
I always assumed that the remaining fuel vapor would also create a positive climb / glide ratio.

Just add a spark into the empty tank and it will boost you rapidly up to about 120 000 ft and then a nice quite glide home.

Yes, but you'll have to ensure that most of the aircraft still arrives at the same airport.
