SAFAIR - great service

Unread post by snoopy »

Flew two domestic flights with SAFAIR this past week.

Friendly cabin crew, neat aircraft with working cabin aircon (even on ground), and good pilots. On time DEPs and ARRs - Kudos. 8) =D>

A worthy competitor to all the other private domestic airlines in RSA - keep up the good service.

Interesting, aren't the winglets supposed to be green with Springboks logo on the inside?

The one we flew to CT with had the split scimitar winglet in pink inside and outside. Like the SAFAIR pic below.

No. I think its only ZS-SJV that is painted with the springbok livery. Not the entire fleet

.....it will be a progressive paint job, the better the boks perform, the more they will change 😁😁

Think Safair need to do an overall green and gold Springbok special livery.

Not just SJV last I checked, here's the list afaik:

Trophy Tour (JRK)
Springboks Back (SJR, SJV)
Springboks Front (SJU)
Springboks sticker/winglets only (SJS, SJT, SJW, FGA, FGB, FGC)
Unsure/no markings (OAG, JRE, JRI, JRM, DMI, WMP, FGD, FGE, SJG, SJH, SJK, SJO(?))

Remember this is all based on the premise that SAFAIR is selected as the carrier of choice for the Springboks. Not sure if this contract was renewed

Their corporate colours are not that of the Springbucks.

SAFAIRs current colors are pink blue and white - except on some special paint schemes - like done for the world olympics on some aircraft of other airlines globally.

I quite like that livery from airplaneguy. And it would be nice as a once off special livery.

Now that would be an awesome special livery. Safair get free publicity worldwide...

Much like Kulula did with Flying 101 & 102.

Safair service is generally quite acceptable, that’s partly why I frequently use them. I have, however, only had one incident where I found their (lack of) response to be telling.

On the said flight, an ENORMOUS woman & her large husband booked seats D&F, hoping E would be empty. It wasn’t! As a result of her occupation of a great portion of my seat, my right hand buttock didn’t make contact with my seat cushion. This caused me to pinch my sciatic nerve.

The physio cost me R800. If the woman had paid to keep the seat open, she would have paid R750. Safair didn’t give a <<moderated - language>> and did not reply to my emails. When you book a seat, you expect to have full access to it. When things go wrong, you’d expect a reply at minimum.

Looking forward to Lift operating to George in the future. I’ve had exceptional service on their JNB-CPT flights. .

I had a bit of a chuckle at that post. They will either have an unhappy customer because you ask them to move due to their size or an unhappy customer because of a pain in the butt. Maybe they can capitalize and sell insurance for minor injuries as an additional add on for R750. 8-[
