Cemair's model is not built on high utilisation. Historically, they've been bringing in older birds that cost relatively less to acquire, but more to operate, so low utilisation, but high earning. That's the typical charter model. This was certainly true for the CRJ 100 and DH8s. The bigger CRJs (700s and 900s) are generally much newer meaning they have much higher costs to acquire and thus need to be worked harder.grjplanes wrote: Mon Apr 24, 2023 10:02 pm They continue getting new planes, seems more CR2, CR7 and CR9's joining. However I doubt their current fleet is all fully utilized anyway...perhaps the 4 CR9's operating within SA (doing JNB-CPT, JNB-GRJ, CPT-DUR mostly) is working very hard and maybe the DH4 fleet...but the CRJ100/200s might have some slack, while the DH3s isn't necessarily doing all the routes they do everyday and the B1900s looks very few nowadays (only see BFN-DUR, BFN-GRJ). Haven't seen the DH1 much lately either.

Those two Air Algerie flights are football charters. Yesterday Mamelodi Sundowns played Algerian side Belouizdad in the CAF Champions League quarter final at Loftus.
The flight would have included a stop en route, FR24 just didn't pick it up.

Yikes, going to be three guys operating MW to SA now. Good for the consumer, bad for us locals that want the flag carrier to grow so we can get hired!!!!African Flyer wrote: Sun Jun 04, 2023 2:43 pm Airlink heading to Malawi in September

Why can't you be hired by one of the other local airlines?img343 wrote: Thu Jun 08, 2023 1:26 pmYikes, going to be three guys operating MW to SA now. Are you being serious? Don’t get your hopes up, the upside down flag carrier is never going to grow and you wouldn’t want to work in such a toxic environment unless you are desperate.img343 wrote: Thu Jun 08, 2023 1:26 pmYikes, going to be three guys operating MW to SA now. You wanna fly medium weight jets as a local, look at Safair, Link or Global/Lift. You want to fly heavies then go overseas, that’s the way it is and the way it will be for long time if not indefinitely.

Unless you being tongue in cheek, this statement makes no sense.HJK 414 wrote: Thu Jun 08, 2023 8:56 pm
