Any thoughts on why it is taking Airlink so long to get the E175s introduced...is it a certification issue or complete refurbishing perhaps?

Well we do know that one is painted already, as seen from this video.

That’s not a E175, but rather a E190. Both the E175’s that have been delivered are still wearing the basic Alitalia scheme. One is stored on the “Mike” apron, the other is outside Airlink’s northern hangar.

The rumour I heard was that the 175s are duds, a whole myriad of technical issues were discovered in JNB. 4Z is apparently looking at retuning them to the lessor.

Counted the windows, looks like it is indeed an E190. The perspective makes it look a little short, hence my assumption that it was one of the 175s.

Africa Charter's had the same issue with one of their 734s.

I understand the (or some) E175 also needs somewhat longer runway for take-off vs the E170...could that (1) impact it's performance out of JNB a bit and (2) where Airlink use the E170 exclusively now to RCB after retiring the J-41, would the E175 still be able to do so if completely replacing the E170?

Considering ZS-YBA has already been retired by the looks of things, they only have 2 E170's left. Maybe 4Z should just get some younger E170's.

Planespotters shows ZS-SXD on SAA's fleet list. Are they going to put her back into service?

It picked up the other day at SAAT on FR24. I've heard a rumour it'll be made airworthy and join SXF...

Scheme is awful. Unless you're a Safair frequent flyer you wouldn't know it's Safair. No Safair titles to be seen...

That's just my opinion.

ZS-YAP is also in new Airlink colours now. (Excuse the attached cellphone pic)

AFAIK this leaves ZS-YAC and ZS-YAN as the only 2 E190’s left in the old scheme.

Is ZS-YAY in the new scheme too?

Airlink put their 6th E195, MSN 19000169 ZS-YDG, into service today. Aircraft has a white tail with Airlink titles, ie the same as ZS-YDF.

Also, planespotters.net now lists E195 MSN 19000671, ex G-NSEY as due to Airlink
