Re: Schedule changes and additions
Looks like CemAir is also getting in on JNB-HRE, initially looks like 4 weekly from end of March.
However, seems to have quietly dropped CPT-ELS...which seemed to have been doing well at first?
Also no Plettenberg Bay flights available after 6 May (from both JNB and CPT), seems for the winter, only available from October.

Yes I was disappointed to find the CPT-ELS route had been dropped. It was at such a convenient time.grjplanes wrote: ↑Fri Feb 02, 2024 3:52 pm Looks like CemAir is also getting in on JNB-HRE, initially looks like 4 weekly from end of March.

But I suppose there's nothing that can be done if the bookings dont support it.

Re: Schedule changes and additions
Qatar changes into Durban. Inbound leg is direct Doh-DBN with the outbound having a much shorter stop in Maputo. Also 5 x weekly. Far far better option now for KZN without the JHB stop.

Re: Schedule changes and additions
I wasn't quite sure where to post this, but it's somewhat relevent to discussions over the last year or two with regards to United and to a lesser extent Delta and their large capacity increases to South Africa. It focuses on the US-Australia market and how/why United have dumped a massive amount of capacity to Australia in the last 18 months, but it hasn't gone well. They've done better in SA and can get the data together if interested, but thought some might find it interesting:

Changes to the above now include an Inbound stop at Maputo. No longer direct inward.

The Emirates early morning arrival from Dubai returns next year for the first time in five years. It was cancelled in 2019 due to the Covid pandemic, https://www.emirates.com/media-centre/e ... annesburg/

Airlink going to Kinshasa next year. I wonder if they'll start flying to Brazzaville and Point Noire after that

Re: Schedule changes and additions
Aside from the Nigeria/Ghana routes, it looks like SAA is basically finished regionally

What do you mean?Airplaneguy9 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2024 1:16 am Aside from the Nigeria/Ghana routes, it looks like SAA is basically finished regionally
In the next 2 months SAA is upping frequency to Windhoek (3 daily), Harare (12 weekly), Lusaka (12 weekly), Mauritius (2 daily) and launching Lubumbashi and Dar es Salaam.
Airlink going to Kinshasa is quite brave, going up against 3 competitors (SAA, ASKY and Air Cote d'Ivoire)
