Cathay A359 Performance out of FAOR

Unread post by ApexKhumza »

Not too long when SAA was operating the A343 to VHHH(HKG) I do recall there being RTOW of 250-260 000KG which meant the 275 000KG MTOW of the A343 couldn't be used especially during the 17:00-ish departure time SA286 had.

Out of Curiosity, I'm wondering how does CX fair with it's A359 on the FAOR-VHHH route considering that it's a late morning to midday time departure along with CCA868...

Does the A350 allow for a MTOW Weight departure or is it restricted as well? If so, by how many tons? A detailed breakdown would be super appreciated.

Cheers!

No twins can get close to a MTOW departure from FAOR. Not even all quads can! B747-400 and A340-600 can get very close.

The A350-900 has multiple MTOW options so it depends which one. But at 25C it'll list about 265t and 10t more at 15C. With CX's 280 pax capacity, it'll be able to take a full pax load and anything from 8t to 16t of cargo depending on the temps. Incredibly capable aircraft, but in this case depends on what MTOW version they have.

Hi Evan. How much better would Cathay's A350-1000 and 77W fare on this route?

Also, how does BA A350-1000 fare on the JHB route?
Positive rate! :D
