Huh, guess Planespotters was wrong? I remember Airlink saying they were going to lease aircraft to fill capacity, though.JustFlying wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2024 7:39 pm Negative, it is branded in Airlink livery and operated by the FlyNamibia crew, as per the franchise agreement.

That aircraft and it’s crew are FlyNamibia, they’re operating on behalf of Airlink. Just like Airlink did for SAA a few years ago.
No Airlink crew are flying V5 machines nor getting Nam validations.

Apparently a fourth now as well.FoxTROT wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2024 2:56 pm A third E175 for Airlink has been delivered to JNB: https://www.planespotters.net/airframe/ ... ft/elzmv6/

Guess whatever issues there was is sorted and they will then be operational soon?
In article saying that now operating 170 and 175...not giving the idea that these are replacing the 170s?

Re: Airline fleet changes
The difference here is you cannot operate a foreign (in this case V5) aircraft on domestic routes unless you have some form of lease agreement in place. Otherwise doing so would be illegal.JustFlying wrote: ↑Fri Sep 20, 2024 3:54 pmSo that means SAA used to wet lease SA express and SA Airlink. This wouldn’t apply to SAA/SAX because both operations were local.
