Eish, that has to have been the ugliest helicopter ever. NOTAR never looks pretty, but that looks like a guppy that's been given an extra large suppository.
The more interesting part of that pic is what they are trying to do to dissipate the engine exhaust, and to accommodate the large fan that a notar requires.

Yup, remember seeing it at one of the early AAD shows.

Still, to be doing that type of work back then was quite advanced. Highlights the sad state that Denel has become.
