I always have paid a bit more to keep my account in credit for just this reason.

I wrote to them last week asking for an update and received this answer and a statement showing the credit balance....

" Dear Sir,
Your accounts are up to date, you don’t need to make any payments. You still have credit. You will receive your licences 2013/14 in due time.
Regards,"

Made copies of this and the statement and put them in my planes......guess I can face a ramp inspection without a worry :D

Put your aircraft(s) reg's on Avcom and I'm sure that the CAA vultures will oblige

I have got mine e-mailed to me, but they were only printed on 5th April. Big backlog on that and then they only post once a week, and then the Gauteng postal services still struggling.
I've got the invoice, the proof of payment, and the e-mailed licences(poor scan quality) in the plane - hopefully sufficient.

What do the guys do that need/want to do cross border flights? :? As far as I know you can be in deep doo doo if you don't have the actual licence.

Got my invoice in the post today (Port Elizabeth).
I bet the Gautengers are going to wait longer. Amazing how anything actually gets achieved up there.

Dear Avcommers,

Maybe someone out there can help me as I am desparate. I imported a Zen1 Gyro last year and the agent sent the radio app and the R 680 eft thru using the allocated reg no ZU-RBI. Unfortunately it seems as though CAA deregistered an aircraft ZU-RBI owned by a "Ridgeway" and allocated me the reg no, but Icasa was not informed, so the R 680 was allocated to "Ridgeway" account now sitting with a big fat credit and the app went missing! I the spoke to a very nice lady Elzana in JHB, re-did all the forms and gave them all the supporting docs. Well nothing happened and I then went there before end Feb and lo and behold you cannot talk to anyone!!! Eventually I got Elzana to come to the front desk and she then gave me a licence no, but even though I have been communicating with her via email since, I still have no licence, dont know the status of my account, the web site does not reflect my licence, not on the reg no, licence no or owner "Kotgove Investments". I emailed Elzana this morning again asking her if the licence has been issued and how can I get hold of it as I need to do an urgent overfly permit for Namibia and they want my licence. She has read the email, but NO RESPONSE!

Can anyone help please, do I speak to someone else or what? If there is further fees I dont care I just need a licence!

ANYONE HELP PLEASE!!!

Regards,

Pieter

Hi Pieter,

I have replied to you direct in greater detail but for the benefit of other interested readers, the limited access to records which is now at my disposal, having left the ICASA fold, indicates that no licence has yet been issued in respect of ZU-BLI either to you personally or to Kotgove Investments. It would seem that licence number 5139833, issued iro Mr Ridgway, is still active on the ICASA database and this is undoubtedly where your funds are currently residing. It should be a fairly simple matter to transfer those funds to a new licence in favour of Kotgove once it has been issued and cancel licence number 5139833. Regarding the time frame this will involve, that is something which I cannot estimate, however, again it should be fairly simple to actually get the licence generated on the ICASA database so that at least a licence number may be assigned and the respective funds credited. I am fairly sure that this is all that the Namibian authorities would require confirmation of as they are surely aware of the delays in issuing the actual licence document in SA. I have spoken to an ex-colleague in the ICASA Durban office and explained your predicament and he is more than willing to assist from the inside as it were. I have mailed you his contact details under separate cover as I am not sure that he would want them made public knowledge at this stage. It is not his primary function and he is basically doing me a favour.

Regards,

Peter

Me neither and on principle I won't pay until I do receive one. Their HQ said that we must wait until we receive the renewal invoice so that is what I am doing.

I accidentally paid twice last year (this getting old sucks) so I have a receipt, but that is just plain nonsense. I can just see some high-handed cop or CAA / ICASA dude saying that is not good enough ..........

Why why why!!!!!!

While I got your attention. Last time I communicated with ICASA by e-mail, I put a read receipt thingie on the e-mail. Great fun - 8 read receipts and 2 deleted unread receipts, each time from a different person. Must be interesting to work there ........
Best wishes,
Bob
