Had a great flight back to FANS from FAPE the cruise was well over 100mph and the airplane performed flawlessly. Took off from FAPE at 07h30 and stopped to wait for cloud to lift at Thorngrove near Cradock before pushing on to FABM which we reached before lunch. We were refueled by Joggie, who has set up after the fuel distributor there closed down. We were his first customer which was cause to celebrate. Rick Borrough, my instructor, and I were forced down by bad weather some 60 miles from Ermelo. Landed at FATom Beckett. The place was totally deserted and we spent a miserably cold and wet night in a rat infested outbuilding while the storm raged about us. Next morning tried again for FAEO but weather again closed us out. This time we found a farm strip and were welcomed with coffee and beskuit. After an hour we tried again and made it back to FANS with no difficulty. The Sav is a dream. Tony Bailes did a fantastic job adding all kinds of personal touches like a leather boot and box around the joystick, powder coated rudder pedals and brakes a carbon fibre finish to the dash and much more. Sigi made the paper work a breeze and the books and registers are absolutely beautifully done and presented. Makes me feel like I have taken delivery of a new Lear Jet. I attach a photo of my own. Believe me she flies every bit as good as she looks. Thanks everyone who put it all together and special thanks to the wonderful people of Port Elizabeth.
