Re: PA announcements
I really enjoy hearing the crew making announcements. It assures me of two things:
1) The crew are intelligent enough to string a few words together in a sentence........ and.....
2) At least one of them is currently awake.......

Classic! I may have to quote you in my next PA announcement.happyskipper wrote:I really enjoy hearing the crew making announcements. It assures me of two things:

Have any of you ever transmitted a long winded PA announcement on frequency by accident? As hilarious as it is to everyone else, its possibly the most ego-damaging thing a pilot could ever do.
Excuse me sir, did we land or were we shot down?

After my short, sharp, blah-die,blah....I never ever say 'SIT BACK AND RELAX, etc..'! How much more can one 'SIT BACK'? Just my own personal 'thing', anyway!

Re: PA announcements
Last year my brother flew on Kulula I think. The captains announcement had everyone laughing.....
it went something like...."thank you for flying kulula, welcome to....." pause a while and then whispers over the PA as if speaking to FO....."where are we again????..."

Re: PA announcements
I flew on a Kulula flight a while ago, and prior of entering an area of turbulence the captain said, ' ok, so this is nothing to worry about, as turbulence is very similar to driving on the average provincial road: full of potholes."
