Ex-Comair Aircraft Scrapped

Unread post by Gerard »

Hi all.

I saw B733, ZS-OAI is being scrapped. Are there anymore aircraft headed for the scrapyard?

Possibly also its sister-ship B737-33A, ZS-OAH, if it hasn't been scrapped already.

The remaining B737-376's are apparently also very high time airframes, so I think its fair to say that they can't be expected to be around forever either.

Comair got some good work out of the 24year old aircraft.

Those were leased aircraft. When the lease ended they were returned to the lessor and the lessors probably decided to scrap the aircraft rather than pay to have them returned to service somewhere else in the world.
