Where's ZS-EVM?

Unread post by Sallies »

Hello Avcommers

I was wondering if anybody has any info on Cherokee ZS-EVM?
It was owned by my Father somewhat years ago, and thought that maybe I can find it again. :D
I'm almost done with my PPL course, and I thought maybe I can organize a flip in the very aircraft I got my passion from.(If it's still flying)
My Dad will really be glad knowing where it is and if it's still operational.

The Cherokee had real Sentimental value, and still does.
I'll attach a photo of a couple of years ago, just after we sold it.

Thank you Avcom :)

This Cherokee was used by Aeroprecision Flight School at Rand Airport before they closed down last year. After the school closed, It was kept in Tom Willows's hanger at Rand. She is also no longer in that colour scheme, but in the pretty black, gold and white scheme of Aeroprecision. I think she is still at Rand.

Hi there

ZS-EVM is now in Heidelberg(FAHG) with South African Flight Training Academy (SAFTA). It was acquired earlier this year. You may contact SAFTA on 0163414658 and organise for a flip in it.

She is in daily use and I see her fly almost everytime I'm at the field.

I'm sure SAFTA can accomodate a flight if you talk to them about a H&F maybe...

She has the exact paint scheme as in this picture, very nice :D

Wow!!! :D

I appreciate all the replies, good to know she's still up n the air.
Very very nice paint scheme I like it, although I'll still miss the old colours.
I'm definately going to give them a call maybe we can organize something. I'm not rated on a Piper PA-28 Cherokee yet, but that won't be a problem.

One of these days :)

I'ts Good to know that she's still going strong.

I thought you would get a kick out of this, its a shot of me at Giants Castle around 47 years ago standing on the wing of ZS EVM
her name was Reenvoel and I have many fond memories of flying in her as an Air Scout out of Virginia Airport in Durban ^^

I flew EVM from 1973 - 1975 in Port Elizabeth. Great to see still flying
