I dont know where the Catalina came from but it was been parked outside at Rand for many years. As far as I know it is registered in Swaziland as 3D-CAT. Approx eight months ago it was moved into a hanger at Rand for refurbishing to be made airworthy, apparently for export to the US.
There have been other threads about it on Avcom so you might want to try using the search function to find out more info.

thanks empty! nope, i'm weekend off (will be watching the ugly big airbus bird doing funny things at ORTIA) but might pop around to see how things are going. think it's a great initiative, and ric and I have done everything in our power to make sure everything runs smoothly from an ATC perspective.Empty wrote:Nice pics Tooki!
