KNS80

I fly a 1981 M20J out of FAGG. Being George, one tend to use your instruments often and need to be able to depend on them. Our KNS80 has been acting up for some time and a week or so ago on the ILS into FAPE the frequencies started resetting to 110.1 within seconds from setting it up. This after the internal bateries has been changed about 2 months ago. Even so, I asume with the Master on the frequencies should only reset on shutdown if batteries were the problem.

The unit is with Hannes at SA Mooney and it seems as though they are struggling to find the fault. If anyone had a similar experience and can point us in the right direction it will be much appreciated?

Hannes at Aref in FAPA found an faulty IC, replaced the same and that fixed the problem.

Hi Lood! Omtrent 'n lang tyd. Laat weet tog as jy hierdie kant toe vlieg en 'n hanger nodig het! Nou onlangs eers begin kyk na Avcom en vind dit baie insiggewend. Kan nie glo ek het so lank nie regtig daarvan geweet nie!
