September is not too busy for me either, I just have to find out when the school holidays are. My 14 year old daughter will probably be joining us.

I am very keen to join a Mooney fly in. All the ideas look good to me.

Another option is Linbergh Lodge - Wolmaransstad. I haven't been myself but apparently a good runway and nice accommodation.

Lindbergh Lodge looks really nice. Anyone been there?

The Lindbergh website looks really good. Would be interesting to know how commercial it is as it seems to be geared for film crews and so forth. Certainly looks like it is worth a look though.

Morning,

I would like to propose that we firm up the date and venue to the 6th and 7th of September at Thuru Lodge, they still have availability, the rate they have given us is R680p/p/n (Children as per their rate sheet) this includes breakfast but not dinner or activities, I think the easiest would be for every one to book directly with them using the "Mooney fly in" as a reference, contact details: Mardoret - 0828854062 Email (Preferred) info@thurulodge.co.za

I am going to be offline until the 22nd July maybe we can keep a record on this thread who has booked?

Regards
Marc

I've contacted them - we'll fly in to Upington on Thursday, clear customs, sleep over and then do the short hop (40nm) to Thuru Lodge the next morning.

May we invite some friends from Upington who do not fly but who may want to join? No offence if this is not okay.

Sorry guys, I can't commit that far ahead. We're crop spraying our wheat during September and I have to fall in with three other farmers and with whichever date the sprayer pilot slot us in on. That time is quite critical wrt the general irrigation and fertilizing program. Going away then is not wise for me, but if all goes well, I might just fly in for one day.

Apologies guys.

My spinner is torn - not sure how it long it will take to have it fixed (lead time from states is 90 days), looking for one locally.

Until I find one, I will not be in a position to join anymore.
