More candy....Lets hope my result turns out something like this.
I'm doing the 914 converted to EFI. 125HP, with CSU. Then going to do a 912 ULS big bore , EFI and performance CAM- non turbo 120 HP.

Re: Electronic Fuel Injection
Looks quite good - but you have to ask yourself why Rotax redesigned the entire core engine for the 135hp 915...

Re: Electronic Fuel Injection
I have no clue and neither am I interested in the 915
as i know what they went through in testing and designing the upgrades for the 912 and 914 . The development of these upgrades have been tested and tested over and over again in some extreme conditions. The 915 is still in the infant stages but I speak under correction.
912 STI 158 HP engines running on some heavy Lift Gyro exceeding 1500 hrs and more. I think they are being used on some military machines, camera sensor ships ect.
Some have been stripped down every 500hrs , no issues yet.

Re: Electronic Fuel Injection
So the plane has been flying for about a year now . In this time we have made some changes to the cowlings, firewall forward layout and a lot of testing and flying.
We did a good few hrs taff testing....you know the wool and airflow thingy. Have video but cannot upload here. Basically as far as the cowl is concerned we had to reduce the airflow going into the cowl by at least 2/3rd. What was happening and why we were having a cooling issue is that the cowl was being pressurised. As we started reducing the airflow into the cowl the temps started dropping by at least 30c . This was oil and coolant. Now we have a very happy Turbo charged engine with Intercooler. Aircraft lost 6 kg on the nose in total even with the small changes to the cowling.

Re: Electronic Fuel Injection
So now that mechanically she is perfect, last part of this whole project is re-molding the cowl to remove the front chin. Inspection hatch on top for water and oil. So we will have a mold at the end of this and a Jig for the engine mount. Happy days for out J 400.

Re: Electronic Fuel Injection
More flying with our Happy Jab...nearly 100 hrs now . We did 4 .5 yesterday some was climb testing again, making some small adjustments to the cowlings. But she is happy up high, low down , slow, fast etc. Have to calibrate Fuel computer and AFR sensor.....
New molds for cowl soon, then respray....feel free to comment if you like LOL...
