Hop, it passed right over us as we were driving past Serengeti (not the one in Kenya ☝🏼) & it still had its gear down. I assumed they had a brake locked out & had to wait for wheel rotation to stop.

Maybe gear pins then?

KL591 appears to have flown through the centerline on arrival at ORT tonight 21:25 local time (Wednesday). Rather odd for a major airline in a heavy?

It appears to have been vectored through the centreline. It does happen: we were vectored through the localizer course and then back to it by ATC into a major US airport last night, for example...

They seem to have trouble on their re-opened West Africa routes. SA60 (JNB-LOS) on 17 April was delayed by nearly four hours. Also strange that they are using the A340 (ZS-SFX) on these routes again.
