Aha! Learnt something thank you!Aquila wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2024 8:56 amHi @Springbok006 , I have never flown an Embraer but on the Airbus we definitely have to put in the correct callsign in the INIT page on the FMS. If not, ATC will tell you that the callsign your aircraft is broadcasting does not match your flight plan. The FCOM states that: "The FMS sends the number to the ATC system". So I'm pretty sure it it has to do with ATC...Springbok006 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2024 9:59 pmHello Aquila! Just to point out, incorrect programming of the FMS has nothing to do with ATC.Aquila wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2024 1:10 pm
I highly doubt that the flight crew will forget to update the flight details in their FMS. Its very much part of flight initialization SOP and if you did put in the wrong flight details ATC would notify you that you are broadcasting incorrect info. I reckon its got to do with FR24...

I was roasted by my previous employer for referring to Inkwazi as the Nkandla Express. Has anything changed other than the occupants

Apparently Jakarta airspace was closed for the Papal Mass? Did this have something to do with the return to Singapore? Maybe NOTAM weren't read?

Re: The Flightradar 24 interesting traffic thread
Most of KEM fleet are old rattlers without full ADS-B so they don't ping a callsign from the plane. FR just fudges crappy scheduling data over the top and the resulting shitshow is what you see, You really need a raw 1090Mhz mode-s feed to see what's actually going, eg. adsbexchange, but unfortunately the coverage in SA is poor on their network, Sadly there isn't a "don't show me fudged scheduling data, only show me raw mode-s" in the settings so you're stuck it !ddevos wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2024 5:18 pm @TGRK, I just noticed something, there are two CemAir flights that are active at the moment, being 5Z610 (flight 5Z514) and KEM451 (flight 5Z451). Yet, when I search for CemAir flights, FR24 says there is only one active flight, being flight number 5Z514. Any idea why this would be?

That obviously means there was enough of an increase in demand for seats. But, one has to wonder what the SAA flights' passenger numbers on average per flight look like...

Re: The Flightradar 24 interesting traffic thread
It’s not a comeback. Qantas never operated A380s on this route previously. 747s until their demise, and then 787s until this week.
