Ah ok, i didn't know there was up-scaled plans. The bigger one might well have flat-bottom profile wing. Dont think undercambered would be lekker on the bigger size i guess mainly due to strenght issues of a single layer wing.

I dont think you should be concerned with too much power.. thats what the throttle is for :D Maybe weight comes to play here... I have 2=1 power to weight on my little GWS twin transporter on 3 cell so moved down to 2cell and works well... The penalty is that i'm a bit overweight on airframe target weight.

All this twin-talk makes me want to re-visit my 4-motor now converted back to twin

Its been over 24hours since you posted the plan-picks! Why havent you sliced foam yet?  We wanna see progress... dammit!

Hier is my Guinea Pig
Ek het my planne vergroot na 150% & daarom weeg myne so baie...

Aerie weeg 2.2kg & thrust is 2.6kg

Jeandre, het jy rudder op daai airy? (Kannie sien op die foto nie) Of differential thrust?

Lyk regtig windgat..

Looks really good my mate!

Wow 2.2 kg is heavy but as your blew the plans up to 150% along with the weight it should fly very smooth and scale.

What is the KV rating of your motors?

I printed and cut out the wing plans. Followed them in terms of width but I wanted a foil with a flat bottom so copied a design based on what the flight test guys do with foamboard and what Ed from ExperimentalAirlines does with vinyl, Ed calls it an "Armin Wing" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2fv41XSx4YM

I will glue and tape the wing together in the middle after I have run the aileron and motor wires.

Building the fuse.

I didnt have any white vinyl so used white ducktape - its not as neat but the strength is what Im after.

More of the fuse.

The turtle deck and bridge will be glued in later after I run the wires and figure out how to do the landing gear.

Will mix the thrust with the rudder (as soon as I figure out how) ... so the front wheel just needs to swivel freely.

Thanks :)

The duck tape is not as neat as white vinyl would have been but I can see I will get silly with this plane in the air so it probably won't live for very long ^_^

Yes it's just hot glue and tape that holds it together. The notches make it fairly strong. It should have ply internal bits for strength but I omitted them in lieu of the duck tape.

I have plastic wheels with 10mm nuts from a basket that I'm thinking of using. Will see what I can fabricate.
