Hi Mooniacs,
Is it permissible for an aircraft owner to change oil on his aircraft when oil change is due?
Thank you in advance.

Re: Oil replacement
If you can do it yourself why not. Don't think the caa needs to be notified of a 50hr oil change. Or am I mistaken?
If you let something bother you, IT WILL BOTHER YOU!!!

Re: Oil replacement
Within the maintenance manual is a section on scheduled maintenance (including 50 hour routine inspections), therefore, scheduled by the manufacturer and making it a requirement to have this done by an AMO and certified within the logbooks.
