Rotax 912 not stopping

Unread post by Farley » Thu Aug 25, 2016 8:16 am

I recently had a problem with one CDI not earthing and stopping the motor. The repair was to ground the charging circuit for that particular module. The fix was a 4.7R resistor tapped in to the charging wire coming from the stator and then grounding it thru the existing kill switch. I did not want to just ground the charging coil directly so hence the resistor.
Ducati use excactly the same inside their module , they use a MOSFET T1 and R3 circuit diagram attached

Now LycoSaurus are much more simple. Just ground the wire, no resistor needed. OH sorry, I forgot. you pull the red knob out. #-o

The Ducati TIF is not downloading. Resave it to a JPG file and reload it.
