When going to an airshow or whole day shoot, do you take several spare batteries, or a battery grip?

Nick, it seems Monique is not a forum member anymore, so you won't get an answer. She is now living in the UK, AFAIK.Thndr_strck wrote:This is going way back, but you get anybody to check that place out?Monique wrote:Going to organise someone in Rustenburg to go check it out...

Those lucky enough to be using 7D's, could you post your AF settings for airshow displays please...

There are a number of websites that provide 7D custom settings for use at airshows. The BIF (Birds in Flight) guys also use similar settings. In the end , it comes down to personal preference.

Re: Photographic Tips / Workshop
I have seen a few people mentioning permits to gain access into airports such as FAJS and FACT. How do you go about gaining a permit for photography purposes, and is there any cost involved?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
I have read of some airports using aircraft spotters as a way of providing security, as lets be honest, we are watching EVERYTHINNNNGGGGG. I wish ACSA would see the point in this kind of system.

That would depend on the colour of your subject (and sky, for that matter).Thndr_strck wrote:I can't remember - do you over or under expose for ground-to-air photo's ?

I normally shoot 1/3 - 2/3 f-stops under exposed as you can never recover a burnt out area of a photo.

carry it
my best photography tip: carry your camera on your person ... ready to shoot ... all the time.
this way in 6 months or so you can easily shoot 30 000 pictures.
by then you will know your camera pretty well and are bound to have a few stunning picturs.
