Jabi battery

Unread post by FlyFalke »

It seems that I need a new battery as all the problems with starting has now come to %67^$& my flying life.
My Jabi 2200 won't crank over unless I boost the battery. Tried/tested and sorted out all the other bits so now the battery is the only guilty party left over.
Where do I buy a new battery ? and what battery ?
I don't think the battery now fitted is a standard battery.

How usefull is buying a new stronger starter motor ? and is it worth the expense ?

Any advise please / asseblief ? wil graag weer in die lug kom.

There is a starter motor upgrade available. There is also the option of a better battery- which was my choice.
I would advise you to speak to the factory or to ZuluBen on this forum.

I regularly put my battery on charger for about 1 hour- especially in winter. Another idea which works well, is to
have a spare battery- fully charged- that you take to the hangar when you go flying. Connect it to the fitted battery
before starting.

Hi - thanks for the reply. I will go for the better battery option first as the uprated starter is almost R10k.
The engine start if I jump it with a battery to boost.
Does anybody know what the model/code for the larger capacity battery is. I was told that it is all about the CCA ( cold cranking output ) of the battery. The higher the CCA is rated the less likely one is to have problems.
