Autopilot for Jabiru SP

Unread post by Jakes »

Hi guys,

I have read all the threads about autopilots here on the Jabi forum, but have not really find the answer to my question..
I have a Jabi SP470 and upgraded to MGL avionics. I want to install a 2 axis autopilot and want to know where the 2 servos can be installed in the SP with the 85liter tank at the back of the seats? Maybe somebody can send me pictures of their installation in the same Jabi or someone i can contact to help me? I have read on one of the threads that it is possible.......just need confirmation or help in this regard.

Any help or information will help.

Thanks

Nothing is impossible if you either: a) Try hard enough, or b) throw enough money at it!

I have just never seen an SP with and autopilot :?

Guess the servos wuld go where they go in the other planes, the Roll Servo right at the back of the stick where the aileron cables start, and the Pitch servo behind the rear bulkhead?

Cannot see why not??

The UL 120 is an upgraded version of the SP and I have seen a few Auto Pilots fitted into UL120's with the standard behind the seat fuel tank, the same as the SP.
The pitch servo fits behind the tank (between the tank & bulkhead) the roll servo fits in front of the tank between and slightly behind the seats.

Robbie Dow has a UL120 fitted with Auto Pilot, if you are anywhere FASY I'm sure he would be happy to show you.

Cheers,
