African Drone

Unread post by KZNChris »

I was going to keep quite since it appears little has changed since I last visited here ?
( Except I see some people that were huge moaners re SACAA appear to now -- since they achieved their registration and licensing -- be singing a slightly different tune )

Has anyone had a look at this site ?

https://africandrone.org

Very interesting as well as the associated "Unequal Scenes"

Seems some foreigners can get right what South Africans cannot ?
I just wonder if all the SA footage is actually legally obtained ?

They do have a helpful "Education" page
I do wonder though how many RPAS / UAV training establishments in SA make a fully detailed pilot training guide freely available ?
Perhaps in this we are also behind the rest of Africa ?

Anyway -- Mr edwoodza how is life now with your newly minted ROC ? ( are you employing ? )

Thanks for the list
It would be a most helpful addition if the dates of the granting of the ROC could be included / added

Approval of OM is one thing.
But we seen its another 6 months plus from there to inspection if not more.
and we ourselves currently at 2 months now since inspection/rla and nothing happening and documents being lost in JHB.
its an epic cluster at best

so the guys saying they have OM approved are months/year away from anything really (remember caa shut down in nov)
..
