How many newly minted RPL's are being employed ?

Unread post by KZNChris »

Does anyone have stats with reference to how many licensed RPL pilots are employed / being employed
How many that sign up for RPL training -- pass and are licensed -- are currently being employed ?
Does this have any effect on RPL training establishments that keep on turning out RPL's that are not able to find GAINFUL employment ?

I notice on Gumtree pages and pages of Phantoms for sale -- at quite incredible prices
Guess I am going to have to get me one ... :)

The best place to ask would be the ROC's as they are the only place RPLs can work. Are there still about 23 ROCS and 1000 RPLs? That would mean each ROC must have in the order of 43 RPLs working for them.

Aprox 30 ROC's now
assuming each employs 2 people that's work for 60 of the 600 odd RPL's

Sustainable industry?
YES, if/when CAA enforces illegals and squashes them then it will take off, till then its sill born and failed RPAS industry.
