Superb my friend, really a great finish to a awesome project. Now PLEASE go for REAL ENGINE ON THE NEXT ONE....please? Well done on the landing, but I believe you stuffed up on all the others...?
Hi Whizza
No rush to paint yet, It was more of a project to see how the larger prop would work on the airframe and very pleased with the results.
It inspired me to try the ME 109 as I was not happy with the power I was getting as it seemed that it needed a larger prop than the 16 x10 as I was only getting 1000 watts. The airframe is also very heavy once finished and needed around 200 grams nose weight. Glad to report that it actually flies very well, needed quit a bit of aileron trim due to that sag in the top sheeting but other than that it is fine. Good duration and nice scale performance and looks great in the air.
So after a year the Spitfire is going to be painted! Byron has offered to paint the airframe as he wants to try a few things with the finish. I had to do some of the things that are a real pain when building a Spitfire and that is the radiators and the cannon. I make the cannon from balsa and also have them removable which complicates things but you cannot move the wing without knocking them off. Mounting the cannon is a pain as it is very hard to get them straight so I decided to make a jig to help mounting them. This is what I did:

Chris, Byron is doing this stunning work, so the compliments are aimed at him....but I will wait with the 'biting' till after I collect the cyano...but it is pretty as hell!!!
Byron had some time and some help so some colours were sprayed. If you have never done this before you will not understand the amount of work that it takes to mask the airframe for painting. Griffin has seen how to wear a face mask as demonstrated recently by a senior official on TV!
