ex ZU-RHU Dynali H2S for sale on Belgian auction site

Unread post by expatAMS » Fri Mar 15, 2019 10:15 pm

https://vavato.com/en/#!/auctions/5c77e9b96176f

Please note: you have to add 41,57% to a bid:
21% Belgian VAT
17% auction costs
3,57% Belgian VAT on the auction costs
Maybe the initial 21% VAT is refundable for export outside of the EU Customs Union - don't know - please contact the auction site if you want to know for sure.

Shouldn't you have to add 38,60% and not 41,57%?

If I read your post correctly: Belgium VAT 21% (of sale price) + Auction cost 17% (of sale price) + VAT 3,57% (on auction costs) (thus 3,57% X 17%) = 0,6069% (of sale price)

Total = 38,60% (on sale price)

Or am I missing something?

Indeed - I was wrong: it's 21% VAT on the auction costs (21% on 17% = 3,57%).

Thus: 21% + 17% + 3,57% = 41.57%

An online initial bid of 10.000 Euro thus means: 10.000 x 1,4157 = 14.157 Euro real cost.
