Drone License

Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), commonly known as a drone and also referred to as an unpiloted aerial vehicle and a remotely piloted aircraft (RPA) by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), is an aircraft without a human pilot aboard.

Why does the drone need ROC certification and an RC chopper modified extensively does not?
The definition is not in the aircraft, but in the use of the aircraft.

Also ask around a bit amongst the farmers. I enquired very casually about a year ago in the area where I have a farm (I was thinking about suggesting it to someone I know in the area and interested in flying generally) and was told that quite a few farmers are already using drones. I don't know about training and licencing but think drones could be massively useful - if only they could pluck a test mealie cob or inject a sick animal.
