Re: Drones to patrol residential estates
Well there is absolutely no doubt that there is a need for these services and well done to them for grabbing that market. And going about it in parallel with the regulations.
But one thing I just don't get, is why talk about high tech thermal imaging cameras and duel battery redundancy, biometrics, machine learning and the rest which paints a beautiful high tech picture. Then go and allow a picture of a stock standard Inspire 1 with an X3 camera which in today's market people aren't able to give them away at under 20 K due to them being so out dated. Why oh why ...........

Re: Drones to patrol residential estates
....Trevor, to "Defence Web" that pic is a high tier drone
...serious question though and maybe it is not the exact right place to ask but on estate survailence, or call it "passive surveilance", I think that a kind of a blimp filled with Helium or the likes would be a far better option than what these okes are doing - re-inventing quads or FWD's
...what is the feeling of the okes that has a lot of hands on experience in this sector?

In God I trust. The masses are never right, the minority are sometimes right, but the truth is always right.

Re: Drones to patrol residential estates
I am more interested to know about privacy of occupants of the property.
Does the ROC license give you the right to fly over build up areas AND watch/record or just fly over?
